**Job Title: Food Service Worker** **Job Description** Assemble tray carts of patient lunch and dinner meal trays for patient care units using information from patient selections and diet orders. Customize patient meal trays with requested drinks, desserts, and rolls before delivering to patient care units. Set up patient food service stations for breakfast trays and assist in the assembly of breakfast trays. Deliver meal trays and snacks to patients, replace missing items, offer alternatives, and inform nursing staff of any issues. Document food and liquid intake for selected patients. Retrieve meal trays from patient rooms and kitchens, ensuring no personal items are left on trays. Assist in washing breakfast dishes and trays. Deliver menus to patients, explain the menu process, and assist with selections, ensuring proper condiments are noted. Check for new admissions or diet changes, deliver menus and diet awareness cards, and complete host round sheets. Handle NOW trays/meals, discharged trays, guest trays, and isolation trays, securing appropriate sign-offs. Inventory and stock the hospitality cart and deliver bulk nourishments. Provide clerical support, including answering the telephone and following up on requests. Produce standard computer reports, including meal tallies, diet orders, nourishment labels, and patient menus. Enter patient selections and special food preferences for therapeutic diets.
