Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure sure their orders comply with their nutritional requirements or restrictions.Maintain current and accurate information for each patient in assigned unit(s).• Work with the caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies and sensitivities; cultural, ethnic and religious preferences; or when a patient inquires about additional selections.Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection in a timely and accurate manner.Retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.Assist dietitians, such as helping monitor patients who cannot eat food through their mouth, are on liquid diets or have a specific calorie count to manage.Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department procedures.Complete all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in the Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.Maintain a clean, sanitary working environment.Attend and participate in department meetings and staff development programs, as appropriate.Associates will be asked to occasionally assist with breaking down, loading, or washing small wares and/or dishes between meal services.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High School Diploma or GED required.Previous experience in a food service setting. Ability to understand and follow instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram form is required.Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. Must be able to demonstrate a cooperative work relationship.Good interpersonal and communication skills are important. Ability to follow JCAHO regulations for food handling, sanitation and food preparation desired.Education
