Bloom Academy Charter School exists to provide a high quality, rigorous, and joyful educational experience to students in grades kindergarten to fifth grade. We are a new and independent school seeking to add deeply mission aligned, smart, hardworking, and emotionally intelligent people to our founding staff. We opened August 2019 with a cohort of kindergarten and first graders, and have added a grade level each year culminating with kindergarten through fifth grade for the 2023-2024 school year.
The Bloom Academy Founding Food Service Team Member
Driven by our mission to ensure every child succeeds, the Food Service Team Member will be responsible for preparing and serving our scholars nutritious meals.
The Food Service team member will have the following key responsibilities:
+ Receives all food shipments to the campus.
+ Inventories and tracks breakfast, lunch, and snack items in accordance with National School Lunch Program (NSLP) guidelines and requirements.
+ Warms and prepares pre-packaged and pre-cooked breakfast and lunch items for scholars.
+ Prepare and serve in-classroom snacks to scholars.
+ Arranges food items for dissemination to scholars in an operationally efficient manner.
+ Cleans utensils, equipment, storage, and serving areas in accordance with hygienic practices.
+ Ensures all food and beverages are maintained and or stored at proper temperatures and completes corresponding food logs for school records.
+ Complete and maintain production records.
+ Maintains and cleans the student eating areas.
+ Perform duties during non-academic times (arrival and dismissal).
+ Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
+ Will work a minimum of six hours per day.
+ Participate in feedback, coaching, and professional development sessions.

Required Qualifications

+ High school diploma or GED certification, required.
+ A staunch belief that all students regardless of race or socio-economic status can achieve at high levels and be positive contributors to their communities.
+ A successful background check in compliance with state law.
+ Strong written and verbal communication and computation skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with all school stakeholders.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
