**Aerotek is now hiring for Food Service Workers!** **Job Description** As a Food Service Worker, you will support cooks with food preparation, assist in creating simple food items, and maintain a clean and orderly kitchen. You will be responsible for answering customer questions, following food safety regulations, wrapping and storing food items, and ensuring the correct serving temperatures and portion control. Additionally, you will serve facility staff and students efficiently and in a friendly manner, provide customers with information regarding food ingredients, availability, and pricing, and escalate concerns to management. Compliance with safety, hygiene, and service standards is essential. We value reliability, a positive attitude, and the ability to perform the job well! **Responsibilities** + Help cooks with food preparation as needed + Assist or help lead in creating simple food items such as salad mixes, deli sandwiches, pizzas, and finger foods + Keep the kitchen clean and orderly + Answer any customer questions + Follow food safety regulations at all times + Wrap, date-label, and store food items + Clean and organize work areas, equipment, utensils, and service station + Follow established recipes to prepare menu items + Ensure correct serving temperatures and adequate portion control + Serve facility staff/students in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner + Provide customers with information regarding food ingredients, availability, and pricing + Escalate customer concerns and complaints to management + Comply with relevant safety, hygiene, and service standards **Essential Skills** + Customer service or previous food service experience beneficial + Cleaning experience + Food safety knowledge + Food preparation skills + Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written + Attention to detail + Reliability + Great attendance + Positive attitude **Work Environment** You will be working at various dining halls within a university setting, including the main dining hall, a small food court, a late-night pub, and a quick-service cafe. Shifts are varied, and free parking is available, with different transportation methods provided. Some overtime may be available. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.50/hr.
