JOB SUMMARY:
Conduct product development tasks as assigned by PD staff that include the coordination and operation of the kitchen and lab, including inventory and facilities maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supports assigned aspects of plant trial batch runs under the direction of a project leader including: ingredient procurement, sanitation, product evaluations, batching, packaging and completion of necessary paperwork.Accurately prepares prototypes from prepared formula sheets in a timely manner. Attends and participates in product evaluations.Supports the maintenance of the flavor and ingredient library including but not limited to ensuring compliance and that all PD development sites are synchronized with ingredients at all facilities.Provides appropriate documentation to support product development activities including: benchtop sample work, formulas, process records, analytical results, project tracking, inspection reports, and purchase orders/invoicing in an accurate and timely manner.Aids in the preparation of material and sample shipments to customers and cross-plant.Supports the upkeep and calibration of equipment, stocking of supplies and general cleaning of work areas.Performs other related and assigned duties. QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/certification:
High school diploma. Strong preference for vocational school and/or college degree in STEM field.
Experience:1-3 years of lab or operations equipment experience with an understanding of the batching process.
Knowledge of:
• Batching and packaging equipment.
• Compounding skills.
• Basic PC word processing/ spreadsheet software
• Basic Food Preparation Techniques/Safe Food Handling GMP’s
• Basic Research Skills
• Basic Presentation Skills
Skill and ability to:
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Read, process, and follow written direction with a high degree of accuracy
• Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service
