Summary

This role will deliver technical aspects of New Product Development for the Application platform provide knowledge in related areas to key stakeholders. 

Key Responsibilities

• Operate within allocated budget.
• Physical and functional testing of ingredients.
• Data collection and trending
• Provide assistance to Food Scientist and other colleagues as required.
• Communication and escalation of project progress/issues to sponsors & other stakeholders eg. concens, project updates, and road blocks.
• Understand the requirements of internal stake holders needs and align priorities and actions to Simplot delivery of those needs.
• Lead functionality  and technical aspects of SPF projects with oversight and make teamwork a priority. Be proactive in the timely progression of projects.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges.
• Complete accurate and timely information for documentation.
• Support the Application team as needed
• Actively participate in technical cuttings.
• Provide technical advice to stakeholders.
• Champion the variety testing platform with oversight.

Typical Education Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university in Food Science, biology, Chemistry, or related field, or 10-12 years related food processing or manufacturing experience in lieu of degree with demonstrated high performance. Other Information Product Development experience with proven results in the food industry is highly regarded. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to develop cross-functional relationships Some experience in managing multiple projects, demonstrating sound project management skills. Lab experience is highly regarded. Sound technical understanding and capability Knowledge of Food Standard Code and Food Safety Legislation Demonstrated report writing skills Proficiency in Excel Ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner
