Job DescriptionFormulate seasonings and food products, new or existing, for customers based upon project specifications. Solve technical problems essential to flavor development, food applications, or delivery systems. Evaluate and make recommendations for seasonings to the sales team based on customer requirements. Develop knowledge of company seasonings and processes.

ResponsibilitiesAdapt to rapidly changing priorities and multiple tasks, taking direction from product developers, scientists, and supervisors.Compound and weigh ingredients with proven accuracy and strong attention to detail.Use lab scales, kitchen utensils, mixers, and ingredients.Identify new and replacement raw materials for lab utilization.Replace existing products, seasonings, and flavors in the marketplace.Develop concepts and applications based on market trends for meat, savory, and seasoning products.Work accurately with calculations, such as ratios, decimals, and percentages, in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in chemistry, food science, or related science preferred.Experience in the food industry with an emphasis on meat and savory development is a plus.Knowledge in food quality, food service, ingredients, flavors, and processes.Experience in chemistry, quality control, food safety, food preparation, and data entry.Work EnvironmentWorking within a research & development lab based setting.
