Job Title: Food Technologist Job Description We are seeking a Food Technologist to aid in ingredient applications and functionality evaluations for food and beverage products. This role is critical for developing new ingredient technology, particularly focused on sugar and sodium reduction. Responsibilities + Aid in the development of new ingredient technology for sugar reduction and sodium reduction in food and beverage products. + Conduct bench top and pilot plant trials to optimize formulation and processes. + Perform functional evaluations of new ingredients and record results. + Perform sensory testing of prototypes and coordinate expert panel sensory tests. + Perform shelf-life and stability evaluations. + Coordinate team evaluations on a regular basis. + Submit prototypes for analytical testing and compile results. + Communicate with suppliers for ingredient requests and information. + Write progress reports. + Maintain and organize laboratory and supplies. + Ensure laboratory safety. Essential Skills + B.S. in Food Science or a similar field. + Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a food lab. + Ability to provide sensory descriptions of foods and beverages. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Good record-keeping and organization skills. Work Environment Work hours are Monday to Friday, with an 8:00 or 8:30 AM start time. This role is based in a research center that houses various laboratories.
