I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Completes setup, stock and sanitation of workstations following standard procedures.
2. Prepares food items such as sandwiches, toast, hot and cold beverages, assorted desserts, snacks, salads, jello and custard, following proper portions, recipes, and presentation. Follows standard food handling infection control policies. Follows standard knife handling procedures.
3. Works on various tray line positions as assigned or directed. Serves hot and cold food according to standard procedures.
4. Loads and pushes hot and cold food trucks to and from patient units. Transports various related equipment to appropriate areas. Loads and operates cart lifts, dumbwaiters and elevators.
5. Collects and disposes of all refuse according to department policy. Hand washes pots/pans according to standard procedure. Operates and cleans mechanical ware washing machines according to standard procedures.
II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Equivalent to completion of two years high school.
2. Must have a current valid Massachusetts driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Requires the ability to carry out instructions and procedures that are standardized.
2. Ability to read, write and speak English.
3. Understanding of basic weights and measures.
4. Understanding of basic mathematical functions.
5. Employees must be at least 18 years of age to perform this role.
