Job Description

This role will be located in one of the following locations: Chicago IL, Detroit MI, Charleston SC, Atlanta GA

Strong foreign trade professional focusing on international trade, customs, FTZs (foreign trade zone), duty drawback, import/export management and project management. Responsible for developing and maintaining excellent customer relationships with both internal and external customers, as well as abiding by US Customs Legal Requirements. Possess flexibility within a team environment or individually with minimal supervision in a fast- paced culture.

Onboarding support for new service providers/internal customersProject management/organization for internal project/costs savings initiativesProcesses management of customs broker management, duty drawback initiatives and FTZ operationsMaintain and abide by records retention procedures per Central DirectivesManagement of escalation processes and potential resolutionsSupport CTPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) site implementations and auditsProfessional communication etiquette via face-to-face, telephone or email with internal customers and suppliersAbility to perform root cause analysis and quality measurements reporting/tracking by utilizing the 5 Why’s or 8D formats for reconciliation/resolving receipt/shipment discrepancies.Other foreign trade duties as assigned.Travel up to 10% (domestic) 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

Associates Degree 3+ years of foreign trade and general customs operational experience, including knowledge of import/export trade compliance requirements1+ years of experience in international shipping documentation and INCOTERMS1+ years of experience with CTPAT warehousing and supply chain security requirementsCurrently holds a Certified Custom Specialist (CCS) certification or is in process of obtaining the certification

Preferred Qualifications: 

Strong ability to multi-task, interpret, understand, and deal with multiple complex int'l trade matters simultaneously with tight deadlines, needing only general supervisionAbility to keep abreast of key import/export compliance issues, industry news and trends, changes in regulations through research, industry news updates, attending trade compliance industry webinars, workshops, conferencesMust have an entrepreneurial, CIP mindset; be proactive, self-motivating, resourceful, flexible, well organized, detail-oriented, and team-orientedStrong interpersonal skills - must be diplomatic, maintain composure, and work well in a fast-paced, dynamic, cross-functional work environment. Must be effective in influencing and building relationships with key internal and external partnersProficient in SAP ERP systems, Excel, PowerPoint, Email (Outlook), Video Conference and Chat applications (Teams, Skype, etc.) and Power BIExperience in cost saving initiativesWorking knowledge and experience with Integration Point for FTZ’s and KPI reporting, SAP GTS (Import & Export modules), & ACE reporting Inventory tracking to support duty drawback functionality
