Duty Location: Lakewood, Colorado Responsibilities The incumbent of this position performs a wide variety of international affairs program functions for Native American and International Affairs Office (NAIAO). At the full performance GS-07 level, the incumbent serves as a Foreign Affairs Travel Assistant. Position may be filled at the GS-05, GS-06, or GS-07 grade level. At the GS-05, GS-06 levels, the duties of this position are developmental in nature leading to the full performance level of GS-07. The incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next level of the position upon meeting all regulatory requirements; certification by the supervisor of successful performance; completion of all training requirements; and the availability of work at the next higher grade level. Note: Promotion is not automatic. Duties include the following: Responsible for the coordination of official foreign travel for Reclamation employees that includes preparing travel packages for review and approval by senior Reclamation and Department of the Interior (Department) officials as well as State Department. Serving as a Certified Federal Passport Acceptance Agent responsible for obtaining Official Passports from State's Special Issuance Agency and visas, as needed for travel, from foreign embassies. Responsible for developing materials to assist in monitoring, evaluating and improving activities and programs. Creating and maintaining databases for foreign visitors, Official Passports, international agreements, and IAP projects. Developing various visual media (e.g., charts, graphs, PowerPoint slides, and printed reports) for senior staff presentations to foreign visitors and trainees. Assists in the implementation of foreign visitor and orientation programs that includes working with foreign agencies/embassies, State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), and other entities. To qualify at the GS-05, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-04 level in federal service having demonstrated 2 of the 6 examples of specialized experience: Managing technical and administrative services for the office. Utilizing a variety of software programs and applications to create tracking spreadsheets and presentations. Composing and routing correspondence. Identifying and resolving problems. Locating answers and information. Organizing the workflow within the office. *OR* You may qualify on the basis of education having four years above the high school level. To qualify at the GS-06, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-05 level in federal service having demonstrated 3 of the 6 examples of specialized experience: Managing technical and administrative services for the office. Utilizing a variety of software programs and applications to create tracking spreadsheets and presentations. Composing and routing correspondence. Identifying and resolving problems. Locating answers and information. Organizing the workflow within the office. To qualify at the GS-07, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-06 level in federal service having demonstrated 4 of the 6 examples of specialized experience: Managing technical and administrative services for the office. Utilizing a variety of software programs and applications to create tracking spreadsheets and presentations. Composing and routing correspondence. Identifying and resolving problems. Locating answers and information. Organizing the workflow within the office. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by 01/20/2025. Education This vacancy announcement allows substituting education for experience at the GS-05 grade level.
