Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

 

Coordinates labor assignments and supervises employee development while ensuring safe and efficient plant operations. Enforces appropriate safety procedures.  Collaborates with Quality, Maintenance and other Departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a positive work environment and meet production goals.

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy. Performs quality checks on sites and equipment to ensure customer and quality standards are met.Develops work schedules for workers to achieve production goals.Delegates responsibilities to team members.Provides training, cross-training, performs evaluations, reviews, and initiates disciplinary actions.Troubleshoot operational and equipment problems to improve quality and efficiencyGenerates and reviews daily operation reports to ensure shift continuity and determine appropriate course of actions for any issues. Identifies, communicates, and escalates maintenance items.Collaborates with the Quality Department to develop and oversee quality standards on site.Develops and implements action plans to improve and attain plant objectives to enhance efficiencies.Review daily operational reports to communicate operational, manufacturing, maintenance issues and shift events to management team to prevent operational delays.Responsible for daily staffing requirements including reassignments, transfers or mandatory over requirements as needed.Documents injuries, makes recommendations and follows up with corrective actions to prioritize safety.Performs payroll and production system computer functions.Hires, coaches, develops, monitors, and evaluates performance of staff.  Reviews and recommends personnel actions for approval. Performs other duties as they might be assigned.Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Associate degree with an emphasis on management / supervision3+ year supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

 

 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

Working knowledge of shop floor interfaces, such as MES and SAP or other based platformsBasic proficiency in Microsoft office package, including Outlook, Word, and ExcelStrong decision making, problem solving, and conflict resolution skillsStrong communication and leadershipTime management skillsAbility to influence productive working relations and team buildingWillingness to become First aid and CPR first responder trained.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

 

Typical administrative / office environment: no exposure to adverse environmental conditionsEnvironmental conditions: protected from weather conditions but not from temperature changesOutside environmental conditions: no effective protection from the weatherHazards: includes such physical conditions, as proximity to moving mechanical parts/vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or to chemicals.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Bend, twist, stoop, sit, kneel, crawl, push and pull.  Able to reach in all directions.Walk and stand for extended periods of time to cover 10 to 12-hour shifts.Must be able to lift 60lbs
