As a safety sensitive position, compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) drug and alcohol regulations is required, including but not limited to pre-employment drug testing and background screening.

Entergy has entered into an agreement to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business to Bernhard Capital Partners. The sale is expected to close in approximately the third quarter of 2025.  Entergy has no planned reduction in workforce as a result of this sale, and intends to operate the business as usual prior to the sale.

 

Job Summary/Purpose

Manage all aspects of the Measurement group to include but not limited to the safe installation of high pressure gas meters, operation of equipment covered under PHMSA regulations including odorization, SCADA, over pressure protection, and sampling systems.   

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, assign, manage and monitor work of associated workgroups. Coordinate with contractors and customers as needed, addressing any issues and ensuring exemplary customer service. Ensure all work meets company standards and in service dates while ensuring all workmanship complies with Entergy's safety guidelines, practices and procedures. Provide leadership and training or help schedule training as needed in order to ensure Operator Qualifications of the workgroup. Track training as required Ensure that any gas facilities constructed meet company specifications and standards, and are maintained according to procedures and policies.   Be available to work emergency work after hours, participate in an after hours call out schedule as needed, and aid in natural disaster restoration efforts as needed. Rebuild odorizers, regulator stations and maintain and troubleshoot all high-pressure meter sets. Understand the general operation of a gas distribution system and make suggestions on improvement opportunities to improve system performance. Work with external and internal customers. Assume OCs or Supervisor's duties during absences. General knowledge of gas industry specific software (Fisher Roclink, Daniels Meter Link, Eagle Field Manager, SICK Flowgate and other measurement specific software applications). Monitor Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems and communication protocols between systems and remote measurement points (Modbus, Fisher ROC, RS-232, RS-485, etc).  Troubleshoot/Repair SCADA sensors. General knowledge of different types of flow meters and AGA flow calculations. Troubleshoot and repair of AC/DC circuits used in SCADA and measurement data acquisition.  Familiarity around the installation of electrical conduit/wiring. Troubleshoot/repair/rebuild various flow control equipment. Ability to represent the Measurement group in a PHMSA audit. Maintain a working level understanding of pipeline safety regulations and ability to interpret changing requirements. General knowledge of how a gas distribution system operates in regards to pressure and flow control stations and how over pressure protection equipment works.    Be able to manage all work orders in the ticket management system (paper or electronic). Organize work and manage multiple task and inputs simultaneously.  Must reside within 45 road miles of the reporting location.  

 

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

High School Diploma or equivalent.

 

Minimum experience required of the position

5+ yeas of gas  industry or related experience.

Preferred:  5+ Years gas measurement distribution or transmission industry experience

Desired: Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement and have the ability to enact change; Ability to lead and participate in problem solving teams as required.

 

ANSI Required:

Class D with Class A CDL preferred driver’s license
