Superintendent - Dam Rehabilitation

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Superintendent to join our team for upcoming dam rehabilitation projects. The role involves managing various aspects of heavy civil, site work, excavation, bridgework, and underground utilities. You will be responsible for overseeing the crew, managing subcontractors, and ensuring the successful completion of projects.

ResponsibilitiesRun the crew of operators and laborers on the ground.Manage subcontractors and self-performing crews.Oversee installation of cofferdams, dewatering sumps, and wells.Supervise demolition of existing concrete structures.Direct excavation and controlled embankment fill.Manage deep pipe trench excavation using shoring.Oversee installation of pipes and manholes.Ensure major subcontractor performs cast-in-place concrete work for the new spillway.Prepare and manage daily reports.Essential Skills & QualificationsAt least 5 years of construction management experience.Experience with heavy civil, site work, excavation, bridgework, or underground utilities.Proficiency in scheduling and management.Effective communication skills.Ability to handle and provide constructive feedback.Strong leadership and initiative.Experience in civil/dirt jobs such as dams, water resources, and transportation projects.Knowledge of site development and earthwork.Familiarity with cofferdams, dewatering sumps, excavation, and controlled embankment fill.Work Environment

The work environment is a dam construction site where you will be expected to get dirty. The role involves a mix of trailer and site work. The team size can range from 20-30 people. The dress code includes construction clothes, tool belts, and PPE. The work week is Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 3 pm. If the weather is bad, work may extend into Friday. Candidates can commute from anywhere as long as they can reach one of the job sites in Philadelphia, Wayne County, or Gap, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
