Summary
Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the repair, maintenance and installation of electrical systems. Directly supervises 8-10 employees in the Electrical Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include maintaining electrical equipment at the mine for surface and underground.
Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Schedules, assigns, plans and supervises the work of electrical shop personnel. Ensure that crew is working efficiently and that oncoming crews have appropriate work, as per electrical plan, lined up for them. Conduct regular safety meetings.Provide technical expertise to ensure exceptional productionMaintain all high voltage systems and equipmentMaintain permissibility on underground equipment as per MSHA regulationsPlans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules, priority of electrical expenditures and procedures for equipment and equipment maintenance.Ensure crew is working in safe environment through attention to housekeeping and workplace inspections.Assume responsibility of maintaining safe work conditions, adherence to operational policies and procedures, and adherence of MSHA regulationsResponsible for meeting budget guidelines and assisting in preparation of capital and operational budgets.Complete necessary daily MSHA and other checks/reports. Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED.Completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent. 3 - 5 years of underground mining experience. Underground mine supervisory experience in the salt mining industry is preferred.Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software, experience with Allen Bradley PLC controls or similar control systems; experience with instrumentation processesPhysical Requirements
