Responsibilities Build, maintain and repair structures and upkeep of project structures utilizing knowledge and skills in carpentry, concrete and masonry. Implements approved plans, prepares and makes daily work assignments, maintain daily records on daily use of labor, equipment and materials for management. Coordinate and supervise the activities of the work crew with effective use of shared equipment. Supervise routine maintenance and non-routine rehabilitation of project canals, lateral structures, pipelines and drains. Assist with planning and make recommendations for routine maintenance. Operate, repair and maintain various heavy machinery and tools. (RELATED TO MOBILE EQUIPMENT OPEATION) ABILITY OF OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES As an Foreman II Equipment Operator, incumbent must have the ability to do the work without more than normal supervision: repair and replace irrigation structures and facilities in the distribution of water; supervised maintenance crews including equipment operators; able to make timely water deliveries; thorough knowledge of the methods and techniques of concrete work and repairing damaged areas; prepare technical scopes of work associated with maintenance projects. Under provision of the Civil Service Reform Act, first-time supervisors are required to serve a one year supervisory probationary period before their appointment becomes final. Those who do not satisfactorily complete this probationary period will be returned to positions of no lower grade and pay than those they occupied before assuming their supervisory assignment. In addition, your are required to possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
