Forensic Interviewer-Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) Article Content Join our Team! Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is currently seeking a (full time 36-40 hours/week; benefits eligible) Forensic Interviewer. As the Forensic Interviewer you are responsible for coordinating and providing Forensic Interviews at the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) for Penobscot and Piscataquis counties. A CAC is a safe and child-focused place that provides services to their children and non-offending caregivers when a child may have experienced sexual abuse. This position is based out of the Bangor office with occasional travel to the Dover Foxcroft site. Location: Bangor, Maine Forensic Interviewer Responsibilities: + Providing forensic interviews of children that are timely, legally sound, trauma-informed and comply with best practices. + Will work closely with members of our multi-disciplinary team including law enforcement, the District Attorney’s office and child protective services. + Help to coordinate monthly multi-disciplinary team meetings and monthly case review, as well as participate in other community meetings and outreach efforts on behalf of the CAC. + Work closely with staff at Rape Response Services (RRS), a subsidiary of Penquis, and collaborate to ensure all victims of sexual violence receive the highest quality services. Forensic Interviewer Requirements: + Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of volunteer or work experience providing direct supports to clients. + A personal philosophy in keeping with the program’s goals and objectives and understanding of clinical, legal and/or political issues related to sexual assault. + Willingness to work flexible and on-call hours including weekday, night and weekend hours and may require travel throughout Penobscot and Piscataquis. Reliable, insured transportation required. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer proficiency and experience, including word processing skills. + Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
