DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will engage in the marking and counting of timber in compliance with Bureau regulations to facilitate timber sales as directed by a forester. Your responsibilities will include conducting GPS surveys and delineating the boundaries for timber sales, herbicide application areas, planting initiatives, and other regeneration projects as specified by a forester. Additionally, you will employ geographic information systems to create maps for timber sales and regeneration projects to support foresters in the Moshannon State Forest. Moreover, you will aid in gathering stand analysis data to inform the proposal of silvicultural treatments on Moshannon State Forest land under the supervision of a forester. Work Schedule and Additional Information: + Seasonal full-time employment without benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee is placed on leave without pay. + Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Wednesday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch. + This position may require travel and overtime as needed. + You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
