Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent GED.  Minimum three months experience. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Pay

$18 - $21/ hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Summary 

Assists the work unit in the production process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Basic understanding of forging process and procedures. Ability to follow directions given by the Blacksmith or Supervisor. Keeps track of serialization of parts. Maintains a safe and organized work area and displays concern for maintain equipment (manipulator, furnaces, etc.) Follows all company policies and safety procedures. Ensures that the parts being worked on are of the highest quality.
