Forklift Mechanic 2nd Shift

Job Description:

Þ      Provide PM’s and Repairs to Powered Vehicle Fleet including Hyster Forklifts (electric and propane),  Man Lifts, Electric Scooters, Diesel Yard Tractor, Electric Floor Scrubbers.

Þ      Maintain maintenance schedule and service records for entire fleet.

Major Job responsibilities:

Þ      Maintain 100 % operational fleet.

Þ      Perform preventative maintenance tasks on fleet vehicles as required by equipment manufacturers or as developed by Trane.

Þ      Perform repairs as required on all fleet vehicles

Þ      Develop and maintain routine scheduled maintenance activities for fleet.  This includes tire changes, oil changes, lubrication etc.

Þ      Maintain service records for all vehicles.

Þ      Maintain lease documents for all leased vehicles

Þ      Work with Maintenance to stock required spare parts for fleet.

Þ      Maintain all required tools in good working order. (Tools supplied by Trane)

Þ      Support Shipping and Receiving teams by resolving vehicle issues as required.

Þ      Maintenance support on 2nd shift including Assisting AST in projects welding, fabrication and installs.

Key competencies:

Þ      3-5 years prior heavy equipment maintenance experience required including fork lift maintenance.

Þ      Strong hydraulic and pneumatic experience.

Þ      Strong internal combustion engine experience (gas, diesel, propane)

Þ      Experience with large 48 V battery systems and charging equipment.

Þ      Experience with all tools required to maintain fleet including tire presses, hand tools, jacks, etc.

Þ      Forklift mechanic certification a plus.

Þ      Welding/Fabrication a plus.

Þ      ASC or other mechanics certification a plus

Þ      Knowledge of OSHA safety standards relating to forklift operation and maintenance.

Þ      Self motivated with the ability to work with limited direction.

Þ      Good skills in the following competencies: Leadership, Team Player, Planning & Organizing, Judgement/Decision Making, Communication, Project Management

Þ      High School Diploma or GED Required

Þ      3-5 yrs. Heavy equipment maintenance experience in an Industrial setting.
