Job Description
We are seeking candidates to assist with Production Operator/Forklift positions. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up machines, stacking pallets, operating bagging machines, shoveling salt, loading and unloading trucks, bagging products, cleaning the work area daily, and accurately completing production paperwork. This position includes a mix of production and forklift duties, with varying responsibilities throughout the day.
ResponsibilitiesSet up machines on the line by choosing a program and pushing a button.Stack pallets of bagged salt with a forklift.Operate a bagging machine to fill and seal bags.Shovel salt outside when needed to manage spills.Load and unload flatbed trucks with a forklift.Bag products as needed.Clean the work area daily.Complete production paperwork accurately during and at the end of the shift.Keep accurate records of production data.Essential SkillsAt least 3 years of sit-down propane forklift experience.Proficiency in loading/unloading trailers and driving forklifts in outdoor/rough environments.Experience in a manufacturing or production environment with an understanding of production metrics.Ability to work outside year-round in various weather conditions.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently.Steel-toed boots/shoes.Additional Skills & QualificationsForklift certification.Experience as a heavy equipment operator.Experience loading flatbed trucks by starting in the middle and working towards the sides to fill the truck.
Work Environment
The work environment is a rock salt mine, primarily outside in the elements. The dress code includes jeans or shorts, a t-shirt with no offensive language or logos, and steel-toed boots/shoes.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, Michigan.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00
