Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift, 2:00pm - 10:30pm

Pay Range: $18.28 - $23.81 per hour

1.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

     a).  Become certified in forklift operation as well as Radio Frequency (RF) operation

     b).  Operate a forklift in an efficient and well controlled manor to maintain consistent product flow while

           reducing the potential for damaging product/facility, or injury to self, other drivers or pedestrians

     c).  Ensure materials are correct according to the production schedule for all product being packed

     d).  Help monitor all area equipment and conveyors to prevent jam-ups

     e).  Ensure the Quality and integrity of the product run based on specifications.

     f).   Remove defective product from the line or finished pallets and rework (if possible)

     g).  Stage production materials for the upcoming schedule

     h).  Maintain a clean and organized work area

     i).   Set next shift (or production day) up for success by restocking supplies, dumping garbage, removing

           recycle items, etc.

     j).  Comply with Food Safety, Food Security, Quality, GMP, HAACP, Allergen and Sanitation SOPs as well

           as other plant/company procedures/policies as required

     k). Fill out required paperwork accurately and legibly

      l). Other duties as assigned

 

2.  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

     a).  High School Diploma or equivalent.

     b).  Forklift certification

 

3.  LANGUAGE & MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

 

     a).  Ability to speak, read, and write English.  Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions

           and short correspondence including schedules.

     b).  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

 

4.  REASONING ABILITY:

 

     Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions

 

5.  OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

 

     a).  Ability to operate machinery   

     b).  Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical problems and make appropriate adjustments is essential

     c).  Ability to maintain awareness

     d).  Possess a sense of urgency

 

6.  SAFETY/GMP:

 

     Personal protective equipment required on the job while in production environment: slip resistant shoes,

     ear plugs, safety glasses, hairnet, and beard net (if applicable).  Additional PPEs required (task specific):

     gloves

 

7.  PHYSICAL:

 

     a).  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to

            successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to

     b).   While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to sit, stand, and frequently

            enter/exit forklift.  The associate is occasionally required to climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch,

            crawl, bend, turn, and reach.

     c).   An associate may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by

            this job include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

8.  WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

     a).  While performing the duties of this job, the associate works near moving mechanical parts  

           and is exposed to wet, humid conditions, bright sunlight, hot and/or cold depending on season.

     b). The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

 

9.  POSITION ALTERNATE:  Off shift operator, relief machine operator, warehouse operator or supervisor
