**Job Title: Forklift Operator**
**Job Description**
The chosen candidate will be wearing multiple hats in the facility. We aim to cross-train everyone on all processes within the facility. There are currently two openings: one for a heavy equipment operator working outside with computers and one for an inside general labor position. Please note that missing a day during your temporary period will result in job termination.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operating sit-down forklift to stage materials in the facility
+ Breaking down raw materials into smaller orders based on order specifications
+ Lifting 50+ pounds consistently
+ Operating equipment to load/unload railcars
+ Loading large bags of raw materials for larger orders
+ Filling sacks and stacking them on pallets for forklift operator
**Essential Skills**
+ 2+ years of forklift operating experience
+ Math skills for weighing out materials
+ Experience operating mobile equipment, including sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes, heavy equipment, skid steers, skid loaders, bobcats, and railcars
+ Ability to lift 50+ pounds
+ Proven reliability and attendance
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ 2+ years of heavy equipment operation (bulldozer, front-end loader, bobcat, overhead crane, etc.)
+ Leadership experience
+ Experience as a farm hand
+ Railroad experience
**Why Work Here?**
Once the employee meets the required time (90 days), they may become a full-time employee with great benefits, including PTO. There is also a chance the candidate will be brought on directly earlier than the 90-day period.
**Work Environment**
This is not a climate-controlled facility. The shop floor is dirty and dusty, and the position may require some outside work. The morning shift is from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, working 10-hour days from Monday through Friday.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Porte, Indiana.
