Job Description
You will be operating a heavy industrial forklift to transport materials in an indoor/outdoor distribution and manufacturing facility. This role involves significant physical work, including walking, lifting, and climbing onto the backs of flatbed trailers.
ResponsibilitiesOperate a heavy industrial forklift (15-20,000 lbs) to transport materials.Assist with material placement and operate the lift early on.Walk at least 50% of the shift to locate materials or assist crane operators.Work both indoors and outdoors, traveling between steel yards approximately 500 yards apart.Load flatbed trailers and railcars, including rigging and receiving inventory.Move materials to loaders via overhead crane.Fill out shipping reports and bills of lading, document all outgoing loads.Learn and retain information based on color-coded inventory system.Essential Skills2-3 years of forklift operating experience.Experience in warehouse inventory, heavy industry, and material handling.Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, bobcats, and overhead cranes.Experience in construction or similar heavy industry environments.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.Ability to learn and retain information based on color.Why Work Here?
