Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description

Move Products- Read documents such as vendor packing slips, carrier shipping documents, UPC labels, and receiving documents. Unload bulk products such as lumber from flatbed trailers and railcars using lift equipment. Place products in the designated area using lift equipment. Build and wrap loads of products that meet safety and efficiency requirements.\n\nEnsure Accuracy- Check labels on products to ensure that they are applied correctly. Ensure products are scanned appropriately. Ensure that orders are picked and loaded correctly. Verify that the information on paperwork such as vendor packing slips matches the product that is received from vendor or loaded outbound.\n\nPhysical Requirements- Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting (up to 75 lbs.), pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, and moving merchandise. Identifying and reading vendor packing slips, carrier shipping documents, UPC labels, and receiving documents. Responding to public address system announcements, pages, and general information.

This is a contract position with a duration of 19 Weekly.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Fremont, California.

Work Environment

Working in a lumber yard where safety is paramount; safety vests must be worn every day. The shift is a swing shift from 3:00 pm - 1:30 am, Monday to Thursday. The environment may include attending and participating in meetings, complying with reasonable expectations and performance goals, cross-training on other jobs, and providing support to other teams as needed. Associates must follow all work policies and support guidelines, cooperate with associates and managers, and complete work activities as assigned. The job may involve exposure to dust, fumes, and noise, and may require handling merchandise, supplies, and tools with sharp edges or hazardous materials. Exposure to external weather conditions such as heat in summer and cold in winter is possible due to some buildings not being climate controlled. Uneven walking surfaces due to temporary cracks in the floor may also be encountered.
