Forklift Operator
**Job Title: Forklift Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled and efficient Forklift Operator to join our team. The position involves operating forklift and industrial equipment to move and store materials throughout our production plant and warehouses. Compensation and level will be determined by successful completion and verification of levels in the Warehouse Skill Level Chart. **Responsibilities** + Load and unload trucks/trailers. + Prepare materials for proper identification, sampling, and warehouse storage. + Bar Code ticketing of all materials as per established procedures. + Verify and sign delivery carrier’s Bills of Lading. + Locate and transfer materials between the warehouse, manufacturing, and production areas. + Verify, count, and inventory materials. + Accurately report material locations through the effective use of the Bar Code Inventory System, including the efficient use of Intermec PC unit. + Perform daily maintenance and care of all warehouse materials handling equipment. + Maintain constant good housekeeping and cleanliness in accordance with all cGMP and FDA regulations. + Adhere to all Department and Company SOPs. + Complete all Receiving Reports, Trailer Inspection Forms, Inter-company Transfer Sheets, Finished Goods Audit Lists, and distribute paperwork accordingly. + Verify and load outbound trailers (common carrier, contract, air freight) effectively. + Stretch wrap pallets of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods. + Comply with all safety rules and regulations. + Accurately enter receiving reports into Accuterm. **Essential Skills** + Efficient and safe operation of sit-down or stand-up power forklifts and industrial equipment. + Basic math skills sufficient to count and reconcile materials. + Ability to read and interpret instructional signs and warning placards. + Experience in trailer loading/unloading and truck dock operations. + Ability to follow instructions, work well with others, and function in a team environment. + Conscientious, hardworking, and detail-oriented. + Flexibility to work different shifts, hours, and overtime on short notice. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to sustain a minimum of one hour of strenuous activity. + Capacity to lift up to 75 lbs. from the floor to waist level and carry containers weighing up to 75 lbs. up a flight of stairs. + Ability to move containers physically off and onto pallets. + Possess peripheral and color vision. + Comfortable working different scheduled hours/shifts/days and overtime to meet the manufacturing schedule. + Ability to frequently climb on and off a forklift, stand/walk on cement floors for 10-40% of the workday, and sit for 41-75% of the workday. + Capability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and perform overhead reach as needed. **Why Work Here?** Join a company that values growth and promotes from within. Additionally, enjoy shift differentials of $1 for the second shift and $2 for the third shift once you become a permanent employee. **Work Environment** Our large, temperature-controlled warehouse spans 179,000 sq ft with narrow but tall aisles and ceilings as low as 32 feet. The facility is well-lit, very organized, and features 6 trailers with staff on site 24/5. The team includes 14 people on the floor, QA, chemway, and material handlers, along with 6 forklift operators, 4 chemway technicians, and more. Operators spend 90% of their day on forklifts, and the warehouse runs on three shifts, Monday to Friday, with 12-hour shifts on weekends.
