**Job Title: Forklift Operator** **Job Description** This individual will be responsible for off-loading and on-loading all goods from containers using a propane sit-down counterbalance (SDCB) forklift. The operator will be on the forklift about 80% of the shift and must operate quickly but safely in tight quarters. The product being handled varies and can be very heavy and differently shaped, requiring experience working with freight. The operator will use paper shipping documents to ensure products are loaded/unloaded correctly and will transition to using complex digital shipping software in the next few months. The facility is open but requires maneuvering in tight corners and handling shipments of varying sizes. **Work Environment** Experience a fast-paced, 24-hour operation dependent on the arrival and departure of trucks. The environment is very busy with incoming and outgoing trucks and drivers, with forklifts operating safely but quickly. The product is staged on a dock with more than 50 doors, handling a variety of products from fridges to tires. The team consists of approximately 50 operators per shift. The dress code requires steel-toed boots (which can be provided on-site) and high-visibility vests. Shift options include Saturday to Tuesday, 4 am to 2 pm, with a 4x10 schedule, and an averaging agreement must be signed during onboarding. **Responsibilities** + Off-load and on-load goods from containers using a propane SDCB forklift. + Operate the forklift for approximately 80% of the shift in a fast-paced and busy environment. + Handle freight of varying weights and shapes safely and efficiently. + Use paper shipping documents to ensure accurate loading/unloading of products. + Transition to using complex digital shipping software within the next few months. + Maneuver in tight quarters and manage shipments of all sizes. + Be adaptable to a contract that may extend depending on internal hiring processes. **Essential Skills** + Minimum 1 year of experience operating an SDCB forklift in an LTL environment. + Valid forklift operator certification. + Good computer skills. + Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 2-5 years of experience in LTL. + Leadership experience. + Experience with Truck mate software. + Ability to work independently and take initiative. + Comfortable with shop talk. + Good English communication skills. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy numerous growth opportunities with a 3% wage increase annually and a yearly bonus ranging from $300 to $500.
