**Job Title: Forklift Operator - LTL Freight Cross Dock** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our LTL Freight Cross Dock team in Calgary. You will be responsible for operating a Sit Down Counter Balance forklift to move pallets, unload and load trailers, handle bills of lading and other paperwork, and maintain a clean and safe dock environment. **Responsibilities** + Operate a Sit Down Counter Balance forklift to move pallets. + Unload and load trailers with freight using the forklift (60% of the day). + Hand bomb/move product by hand, with a maximum weight of 50lbs (40% of the day, depending on shipments). + Handle bills of lading and other paperwork throughout the shift. + Assist other team members with unloading paperwork. + Help clean up the yard and perform other duties as needed. + Ensure the dock is clean and clear of debris for safety reasons. **Essential Skills** + 1 year of experience operating a Sit Down Counter Balance forklift. + Experience in transportation, warehouse, or distribution companies (3PL or LTL). + 1 year of experience loading and unloading trailers using the forklift. + Ability to lift up to 50lbs throughout a shift. + Adaptable to fast-paced environments and able to switch tasks with ease. + Valid forklift ticket (in-house or private; can be obtained prior to start date). **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Safety vest (strongly recommended). + Leadership experience. + RF Scanner experience. + Waybill/Bill of Lading experience. **Why Work Here?** We offer numerous growth opportunities, with a 3% wage growth every year, annual bonuses between $300-$500, and a $200 annual boot allowance. Trucks arrive with pallets of shipments for retail stores from distributors, which are then unloaded and packed for retail. The dock is a small space with significant movement in and out. You will be part of a team of 7-10 people, reporting to the supervisor. Duties will include paperwork, swamping, and operating the forklift, requiring adaptability and multitasking skills. The facility has 68 bay doors and 16 forklifts. The shift is Monday to Friday, 5:00 pm - 1:30 am. The dress code includes outdoor wear such as jackets and sweatshirts, as the dock can get very cold.
