Sit down Forklift Operator- 12 hour schedule Forklift Operator will be utilizing the equipment to move material and supply production lines. Will be in the packing area moving pallets and taking away for shipping. As a key team member you will safely and efficiently transport materials using the forklift, which is a powered industrial truck equipped with forks or a platform for lifting and carrying heavy objects. Responsibilities • Operating sit-down forklift • Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, extrusions, or logs and transports load to designated area. • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. • Loads and unloads trucks as required. • Empties trash containers as needed. • Places empty baskets on wheels for saw crews. • Empties scrap hoppers, • Loads and unloads heat treat ovens and moves metal to next department or area. • Follows proper procedures, starts Age Ovens selecting proper cycles. Completes documentation and charts as required. • Monitors Age Cycles periodically to assure proper operation. • Insures forklift is maintained in a safe working order. Reports defects or problems to shift supervisor. Completes preventive maintenance and corresponding paperwork as directed. • Assists with maintaining a neat and orderly plant, insuring aisleways are kept clear. Performs general housekeeping duties as directed. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + -2+ years of work experience on FL + -Read and interpret work orders, safety instructions, and manuals + -Basic math skills + Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance. **Experience Level:** Entry Level **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.92 - $18.92/hr.
