Summary of Position:
The Forklift Operator I is certified to operate both sit-down and stand-up forklifts. This entry-level position involves loading and unloading trucks, as well as putting away materials using either type of forklift. Additionally, the Forklift Operator I may be tasked with other duties as assigned.
Functions of the Position: % of Time Essential/ Marginal
· Handles loading and unloading of trucks, placing items in racks,
verifies received goods against order documentation, signs Bills
of Lading (BOLs), and applies License Plates (LPs) as
instructed. Picks and puts away orders. 65% Essential
· Inspects trucks and documents inspection. 10% Essential
· Assists in keeping warehouse clean and organized. Sweeps,
dusts, picks up trash, tapes up any open cases and organizes
pallets, etc. 10% Marginal
· Rotates inventory using FIFO method. 5% Marginal
· Conducts pre-operation inspections of equipment and reports
any deficiencies. Responsible for the accurate use and proper
care of hand-held scanning equipment. 5% Marginal
· Perform location audits as needed. 5% Marginal
· Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe
and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices,
allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and
regulatory requirements.
· Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls
necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
· Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to
management.
· Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills, and
information within assigned team and across functional areas.
· Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as
professional and leadership development.
· Responsible for compliance with all safety policies and procedures established
for health and workplace safety.
· Responsible for supporting safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors,
reporting potential hazards and conducting safety observations as assigned. Continually

Qualifications
· Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
o 1 year experience driving Forklift.
o Knowledge of safe forklift operation.

Job Specific Requirements:
In the event that the Forklift Operator I is absent, the Department Supervisor is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
