Summary of the Position:

The forklift operator I is qualified to operate electric pallet jacks and/or sit-down forklifts. The person in this position possesses entry level skills to unload/ load trucks, performs put away of materials using a sit-down forklift. The forklift operator I is also responsible for changing equipment batteries.

·        Responsible to support safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations.   

Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements.Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.Responsible to comply with all safety policies and procedures established for health and workplace safety.

Qualifications:

 

Education, Experience, and Knowledge:  Forklift driving experience and knowledge of safe forklift operation.   Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:  Material handling equipment certification required.

 

Skills and Competencies:

Ability to read, write and speak English.Basic math skills

 

Job Specific Requirements:

This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.

 

In the event that the forklift operator I is absent, the department manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
