Summary of the Position:
The forklift operator I is qualified to operate electric pallet jacks and/or sit down forklifts. The person in this position possesses entry level skills to unload/ load trucks, performs put away of materials using a sit down forklift. The forklift operator I is also responsible for changing equipment batteries.
Functions of the Position:
% of Time Essential (E) or Marginal (M) Functions Performed
65% E Loads/unloads trucks, verifies receipt to order documentation, sign BOL’s, receives into system using WMS scanning equipment, and applies LP’s as directed.
10% E Inspects trucks and documents inspection.
10% M Assists in keeping warehouse clean and organized. Sweeps, dusts, picks up trash, tapes up any open cases and organizes pallets, etc.
5% M Rotates inventory and/or adjusts inventory quantities.
5% E Changes equipment batteries, pre-op inspects equipment, reports equipment deficiencies.
5% M Processes UPS and Fisher store orders.
Continually · Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements. · Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality. · Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management. · Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas. · Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership
development. · Responsible to comply with all safety policies and procedures established for health and workplace safety. · Responsible to support safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations.

Qualifications:
Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
· Forklift driving experience and knowledge of safe forklift operation.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
· Material handling equipment certification required.
Skills and Competencies:
· Ability to read, write and speak English.
· Basic math skills
Job Specific Requirements:
This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.
In the event that the forklift operator I is absent, the department manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
