Forklift Operator (Inventory)
Job Title: Forklift Operator (Inventory)

Job Description

You will report to the Inventory Department, which is a small team of five but is looking to double in size. The team is responsible for overseeing raw material handling, in-process material, and finished products. Your primary role will involve counting, staging, transferring materials to different buildings, and prepping pallet building for shipment. The position involves 80% sit-down forklift operation and 20% additional duties such as inspecting loads, building pallets, picking orders, and general cleaning.

ResponsibilitiesOperate sit-down forklift at floor level, primarily responsible for moving bins to different locations on the production floor.Effectively use RF scanner and tablet with Excel for tracking purposes.Inspect loads, build pallets, pick orders, and perform general cleaning.Retrieve materials as needed and accurately record them in NetSuite or RF Smart systems.Keep all areas organized and ensure pathways are clear.Return unused materials to their designated locations and document transfers systematically.Assist with placing bins on bin dumpers and organizing rework materials.Ensure all pallets are properly wrapped and documented on pallet count sheets in real-time.Wrap pallets securely to prevent shifting during transport without causing damage to the products.Adhere to SOP, SSOP, GMP, and HACCP guidelines when in the plant.Report any safety concerns or issues promptly and document any work-related accidents or incidents.Report any misuse of equipment by other operators.Regular and reliable attendance is required.Essential SkillsMinimum of 6 months of sit-down forklift operation experience.Proficiency with computers and handheld devices.Experience with RF Smart systems.Data entry experience in NetSuite preferred.Ability to follow company policies, guidelines, and work instructions.Flexibility in performing various functions depending on the area of operation.Experience assisting supervision, management, leads, and operators as needed.Skilled in paperwork documentation.Ability to lift 50lbs.English proficiency is required.Additional Skills & QualificationsAttention to detail and multitasking skills.Troubleshooting abilities.Experience in a production environment.Experience with filling machines.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This is a growing company with opportunities for advancement. We value candidates who provide feedback and are proactive with improvements. The work environment may be wet or dry, with temperatures as low as 35F. You may be assigned to any of the three buildings, based on daily needs and will not be at a single location for assignment. The work environment includes dry areas, refrigerator areas, and cold storage areas (down to -10 degrees), with appropriate PPE provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oceanside, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
