Forklift Operator/Nightshift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

1.  Loads and unloads trucks 
2.  Reprint load tags 
3.  Stretch wraps products 
4.  Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. 
5.  Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area. 
6.  Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. 
7.  Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed. 
8. Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device. 
9. Fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank. 
10. Ensures all units are scanned into correct location
11. Completes pre-inspection forms 
12. Inspects bales for damage 
14. Receiving forklift drivers sign delivery receipts when truck is unloaded.              15. Use Top Gun System (inventory system)

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to read a work order. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on rare occasions and more frequently lifting of 1-20 lbs. This job requires occasional bending and twisting and alternating sitting/standing, some pushing and pulling, simple and power grasping, climbing stairs, continuous right and left hand motions and hand/wrist work while driving 6-8 hours continuously. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics are that of most manufacturing facilities.  Most of the work is performed inside with less than 1% performed outside. The plant in not climate controlled and temperatures inside can be similar to outdoor temperatures.  The plant is generally clean of debris but the manufacturing process generates a fair amount of corrugation dust.  Driving and maneuvering space for the operation of fork trucks are limited due to materials, machinery, and pedestrians.  The described work environment is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
