The Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a part-time Formula Room Technician to join the nutritional support team. This position part-time (20 hrs/week) working a variable day shift, Monday-Friday & every other weekend. Requirements for consideration:

High school Candidate with interest in gaining clinical knowledge or has a clinical background is highly preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

The Formula Room Technician is responsible for ordering, receiving, handling, storing, preparing and delivering human milk and formula. This includes mom’s expressed milk and donor milk.  Preparation techniques should adhere to all sanitary regulations and standard and will be consistent with the 3d Edition of Infant and Pediatric Feedings: Guidelines for Preparation of Human Milk and Formula in Health Care Facilities.  This role is also responsible for ensuring the environment meets facility and cleanliness standards, training and onboarding other technicians, and participating in educational opportunities. Maintains an adequate inventory of formulas and supplies; avoids need to overnight  Records refrigerator and freezer temperatures on appropriate log daily in designated pantries and work areas.  Adheres to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point guidelines; maintains temperature logs of prepared feedings for quality assurance.  Removes damaged formula cans and outdated formula stock from inventory and disposes per facility guidelines.  Covers, labels and dates formula requiring refrigeration according to formula room policy.  Complies with HIPPA regulations.  Performs other duties as assigned.
