Formulary Specialist I - Direct Placement Compensation: Annual Salary up to $32,000 plus benefits (commensurate with experience). Position Description: Reporting to the Formulary Manager, the Formulary Specialist I handles the development and maintenance of drug formularies within OneArk's Cube Formulary Management application. This role involves daily formulary operations, ensuring compliance with company and client formulary policies and regulations. The Specialist I will provide essential operational support to cross-functional teams, facilitating the creation, maintenance, and review of formularies. This position offers career ladder progression to Formulary Specialist II. RESPONSIBILITIES
Formulary Drug Updates:
+ Conduct weekly Rx drug maintenance, including Medi-Span report analysis, new drug analysis, reactivated/changed NDC analysis, system change verification, team recommendations, report creation and validation, client report distribution, Cube system updates, List Manager maintenance, data entry validation, test batch execution, and manual spreadsheet updates.
+ Perform monthly OTC maintenance, including new drug analysis, report creation, Cube system updates, data entry validation, test batch execution, client notification, and manual spreadsheet updates.
+ Manage bimonthly P&T formulary decisions, including Cube system updates, new PA for grandfathered drugs, data entry validation, test batch execution, and manual spreadsheet updates.
+ Execute quarterly 1-year reevaluation decisions, including Cube system updates, data entry validation, test batch execution, and manual spreadsheet updates.
Formulary Change Implementations:
+ Process internal and external client formulary update requests, including Cube system updates, data entry validation, test batch execution, and manual spreadsheet updates.
+ Implement PDL (Preferred Drug List) for formulary renewals, including BIF analysis, formulary PowerCopy requests, Formulary Drug Match execution, modifications, and Formulary Sync.
Client Formulary Marketing Materials:
+ Manage monthly PG marketing materials, including spreadsheet validation, request processing, marketing material validation, and distribution.
+ Handle other marketing materials, including spreadsheet creation, request processing, and material validation.
Formulary Reporting:
+ Generate, validate, and distribute Formulary Changes for MCS and Formulary Updates for other accounts, including website posting and drug end date coding.
+ Create, validate, and distribute Formulary Negative Changes EHB reports, including website posting, fax blast requests, and drug end date coding.
Formulary Development and Revision:
+ Support the Formulary Manager in formulary development, including data gathering, coding, and validation.
+ Assist with annual formulary revisions, including proposal development, coding, validation, regulatory documents, and test batch execution.
Client Consultations:
+ Respond to internal and external client consultations via the Manage Engine application within agreed-upon timeframes.
Special Projects:
+ Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned by the Formulary Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Pharmacology: General knowledge of major drug categories.
+ Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet Explorer.
+ Pharmacy Expertise: Knowledge of pharmaceutical products, drug names (brand/generic), dosage forms, and pharmacy terminology.
+ Retail Pharmacy Operations (Preferred): Understanding of retail pharmacy operations, insurance billing, third-party systems, point of sale, and online pharmacy claims processing.
+ Healthcare and Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of community healthcare delivery, pharmacy regulations, and regulatory agencies.
+ Language Proficiency (Preferred): Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
+ Commitment to Quality: Sets up and keeps high quality control standards.
+ Strong Mathematical Skills: Proficient in calculations involving various units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Education & Certification
+ Pharmacy Technician associate degree from an accredited institution (where mandated by law)
+ 1 – 2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare environment or at a pharmacy benefit manager.
+ Open to newly licensed technicians
+ Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
+ Current, valid, and unrestricted state or Puerto Rico Pharmacy Technician license/registry certificate.
