Job Description
Responsible for formulation development, working on new products and product improvements. Responsible for the primary technical transfer of new formulations into commercial operations. Formulate and execute product development from bench to production scale for new products and/or product improvements across various product lines/programs, adhering to project timelines and cost parameters.
ResponsibilitiesPerform new product development requiring knowledge and experience in both processing technologies and product formulation.Edit existing formulas to achieve cost savings.Work with suppliers to identify ingredient improvements and applications and process improvements.Create and maintain formulations, specifications, processes, and testing procedures.Coordinate bench samples for prototyping and corporate presentations.Collaborate with cross functional teams to conduct trials, complete projects, and meet production timing.Adhere to all GMP, SQF, and food safety procedures.Essential Skills and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline.Minimum of 3 years’ experience in product development formulating nutritional and food productsAbility to work with others in a high-paced environmentOrganizational skills to manage multiple projects, timelines, and communication to appropriate team membersSensory evaluation skillsGeneral knowledge of manufacturing procedures, capabilities, and departmentsExperience with Genesis Nutrition Software is a plus.Project management, attention to detail, and organizational skills
