Job Description

Summary:

As a Formulation Technician I at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will have a special opportunity to work at the forefront of scientific innovation. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring that our manufacturing processes are implemented detailed, by closely adhering to safety guidelines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Your role will involve the direct application of your technical expertise to make critical decisions and supply to our outstanding production operations.

Job Functions:Monitor and operate both automated and manual chemical process equipment, conducting related activities such as sampling, chemical/material handling, cleaning, and maintenance per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Safety guidelines.Perform manual and computer operations (PCR-2A and PLC or equivalent experience) to manufacture chemical intermediates and finished products, ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory agencies and company policies.Accurately record and analyze processing data from instruments, DCS, PLC’s, Pi, BDR, LIMS,Acquire samples of process streams or products, submit samples to IPC Lab or perform tests, record and analyze results, and take appropriate action based on findings.Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications, including appearance, absence of foreign substances, and packaging or labeling requirements.Receive and verify raw materials and chemical intermediate deliveries, completing relevant records inPerform all duties in strict compliance with SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, and Safety guidelines,

Education:

High school diploma required.

Experience:Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in production/manufacturing as an operator or equipment maintenance technician with manufacturing equipment, or an associate degree preferred. Experience in a chemical processing or pharmaceutical environment is highly preferred.Strong mechanical competence.New hires must successfully complete Phase I of the Process Tech On-The-Job Training program within the first 24 months, involving chemical technology, unit operations, math, chemistry, process equipment, and control systems. Experience with SOPs is a must.Equivalency:

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered based on the above criteria.

Proficiencies:Good understanding of basic equipment and strong problem-solving skills.Confirmed social skills to cultivate collaboration.Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and regulations.Capable of applying basic mathematical principles.Outstanding attention to detail and dedication to performing tasks accurately and safely the first time.Ability to work effectively in a team, often in a 12-hour rotating shift within a 24/7 operation, including evenings and holidays.

Physical Requirements:Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms, sit, talk, and hear.Must walk, stoop, kneel, crouch 80% of time, ascend/descend stairs 20%, and lift up to 50 lbs.Must have specific vision abilities including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.What We Offer
