Job Description
We are seeking a Junior Formulation Chemist to follow formulation instructions and test new formulas for lead chemists. The role involves making small scale batches, performing application and QC testing, and reporting data on the outcomes. You will provide insights and collaborate on improving batches and formulas, as well as perform testing on raw materials and finished batches.
ResponsibilitiesFollow formulation instructions to test new formulas.Create small scale batches and perform application testing and QC testing.Report data on batch outcomes and provide insights for improvement.Perform testing on raw materials and finished batches.Collaborate with lead chemists and the Technical Manager to improve formulations.Serve as a backup to the primary QC Lab Technician as needed.Assist with QC Testing during high demand periods.Essential SkillsExperience in Chemistry.Desire to work in formulation roles.Experience in formulation, R&D, laboratory, and analytical chemistry.Ability to run formulas and report results to lead chemists and managers.Initiative to give feedback on formula performance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with small scale batching.Work Environment
The role is based in a new facility with a modern laboratory. You will work the 1st shift, Monday through Friday, with flexible start times around 7-3:30 or 8-4:30. Approximately 95% of the workday will be spent in the laboratory, with some administrative tasks in the laboratory office. You will work closely with the Technical Manager and other lead chemists on R&D projects. The company offers a good schedule and a supportive work environment, providing opportunities for growth into a full-fledged formulation chemist.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
