**Foster Care Intern**
**In this intern role, we are looking for a student that is currently in school working towards their degree in Social Work,** **Psychology, Sociology, or other types of Human services degrees. In this internship, the intern will be t** **raining on** **the licensing and opening of new foster homes,** **as well as working with foster parents and youth here at NYAP.**
**Responsibilities**
+ Internship responsibilities vary and are based on the agreement between the educational institution and NYAP
+ Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Enrollment in an accredited educational program. Specifically Social Services or other Human Services degrees.
+ Specific qualifications will be based on internship details.
+ Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

+ Excellent customer service and communication skills
+ Sensitivity to cultural diversity
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
