Foundation Officer - Employee & Annual Giving

JOB SUMMARY

\n

The Foundation Officer - Employee & Annual Giving is responsible for development and implementation of fundraising events and annual fundraising campaigns, focused on creating meaningful and impactful engagement opportunities for donors throughout the year. This position will report to the Foundation Director and will solicit funds and implement strategies to achieve fundraising goals. Responsibilities include leadership and implementation of the annual employee giving campaign, management of events, and special projects as assigned. This professional will also write grants and work with grant writing professionals to solicit funds toward their annual fundraising goal. This person will be responsible for creating an event strategy, tracking milestones and fundraising progress, soliciting corporate and individual sponsors for assigned events, maintaining a pipeline of donors, volunteer leadership, managing post event donor follow up & pipeline strategy.

This position requires significant teamwork and frequent contact with Foundation leadership, donors, community volunteers, physicians and employees at all levels of the organization. It is a multifaceted role that requires the ability to analyze complex data and develop strong, strategic insights and plans to support effective and measurable Foundation goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

\n\nDevelops and implements strategies for annual and employee giving.\nManages and executes plans for annual fundraising events\nProduces grants and works with contract grant writers to secure funds needed for the foundation’s beneficiaries\nEnsures that proper donor acknowledgement, recognition, and stewardship occurs in a timely way according to BSWH guidelines\nPerforms other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous way\n\n

Fundraising & logistics

\n\nWork collaboratively with development team to identify, engage and manage board and/or committee members for assigned events. \nResponsible for donor engagement and achieving fundraising goals through underwriting, sponsorships for assigned events and annual giving.\nEvaluate progress toward financial goals and make strategic revisions to fundraising plans.\nCollaborate with key stakeholders to ensure successful execution of assigned event(s), capture event attendee information, activate stewardship plan and identify potential event donors for major gift pipeline. \nDevelop compelling messaging around sponsorship opportunities to ensure effective communication.\nSupport or conduct face-to-face visits, solicitations and other high-level interactions with volunteers, donors and prospects.\nAssess giving potential, recommend target ask amounts, facilitate donor asks and develop personalized strategies for sponsorships.\nDrive event stewardship strategy and execution.\nProvide detailed, timely and accurate data entry of relevant information in RE.\nManage event budget, including event expenditures and revenue, with the goal of creating high ROI.\nEffectively communicate action items, statuses and potential issues/risks appropriately throughout the course of assigned events/project(s).\nWork with other team members and volunteers as needed to optimize event strategy.\nConduct post-event evaluations to measure ROI and gather insights and use feedback to refine future event strategies and improve processes.\nWrite grants and work with grant vendors to secure funds.\n\n

Third-party events

\n\nResponsible for managing some third-party event requests, including event agreements.\nServe as the main point of contact for third-party event partners by providing necessary information, support, documentation and stewardship. \nCollaborate with partners to align event messaging and branding.\n\n

Employee giving campaign (Give to Change)

\n\nDrive employee engagement, raise funds and foster a culture of philanthropy among employees.\nWork closely with Foundations campaign lead, organizational leadership and various clinical departments to ensure campaign success.\nManage campaign activities, milestones and deadlines.\nExecute a comprehensive communication plan to promote the campaign and work with Give to Change team to order and distribute campaign gifts.\nOrganize campaign kickoff and stewardship events and engagement activities to motivate employees to participate.\nIdentify, recruit and train employee volunteers to assist with campaign activities.\nSolicit funds from employee donors.\nMonitor campaign progress and regularly update leadership and team members on fundraising achievements.\n\n

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

\n\n Ability to work with and motivate a broad spectrum of people including person donors and prospects, board members, physicians, administrators, volunteers, and staff\nFamiliarity with the moves management methods and techniques of gift solicitation with a particular emphasis on person major gift donors\n Excellent written and verbal communication skills\n Working knowledge of prospect research tools available and knowledge of how to access and use those products\n Proven track record of success in coordinating and securing gifts is a plus\n Familiarity with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge or NTX software a plus\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS

\n\nEDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification\n EXPERIENCE - A minimum of 3 years experience required\n
