Job Summary:

The Vail Resorts Finance Team is committed to Building Leaders and Driving Value.  We are growing the fully centralized Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in our corporate headquarters near Boulder, Colorado.  We are transforming our FP&A organization to bring best-in-class insight generation, data-driven decision-making support and financial management to Vail Resorts – the ski industry’s global leader.

The Senior Manager for Retail Finance will partner with senior operational leaders in our Retail and Rental division to drive planning, forecasting and financial management, aligning our key resources with the achievement of our strategic goals, both long and short-term.  This leader will build critical relationships within the broader FP&A organization and will evaluate key trends and lines of business to influence our highest priority business decisions. This position will report to the Director of Retail Finance.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Primarily focused on supporting My Epic Gear, a first-of-its-kind ski gear membership program reimagining the gear ownership and gear rental model Partner with stakeholders across the organization to create complex financial models to gain critical insights and drive investment decisions Develop analyses to drive capital projects, operational excellence, efficiency, and process improvement work streams Apply business judgment and financial insights to assist with decision-making that aligns resource allocation with the company's objective Monitor and analyze operating results to identify risks and opportunities  Partner with Corporate Finance and leadership team to develop comprehensive annual operating and capital budgets Approach and behavior—cultural characteristics: Strong curiosity in tackling complex business problems; dives deeply into the data, relentlessly pursues what it means, and how these insights drive decision making Comfortable operating in financial systems and spreadsheets, and equally comfortable leveraging his/her capabilities to work independently Strong learning agility; enjoys and excels in environments where they must tackle and solve new and increasingly complex strategic business challenges and issues - incorporating the newest ideas, technologies, and approaches to business A brave, ambitious, and passionate leader who is comfortable in their own skin while also demonstrating a high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness

Job Qualifications:

Outstanding academic credentials; Bachelor’s degree required in Finance and/or Economics 7+ years’ experience or 5+ years with MBA Experience executing all financial planning and analysis functions including annual budget, capital budgeting, long-term strategic planning, resource allocation processes and enterprise-level communications Demonstrated aptitude and success in financial modeling, insight generation/analysis and executive communications Outstanding analytical skills with ability to synthesize information, develop insights and recommendations, and communicate effectively in presentations by developing the “story” Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with strong initiative and ability to multi-task Superb attention to detail balanced by ability to focus on the "big picture"

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $100,000- $120,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
