About the Role:

As a Configuration Architect at Altera, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of FPGA configuration architecture. This leadership position demands both deep technical expertise and strategic vision across hardware, firmware, and security domains. You will be responsible for defining and driving the end-to-end configuration architecture for FPGA devices and influencing technology development.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture Development: Lead the development of end-to-end configuration architecture for FPGA devices, defining technology roadmaps based on hardware features, requirements, and interoperability throughout the product lifecycle.

Innovative Technologies: Drive the development of innovative technologies for FPGA configuration subsystems, ensuring cutting-edge solutions that meet performance and security standards.

Ecosystem and Customer Support: Influence and support ecosystem enabling and customer interactions during architecture definition. Enable architectural features for future generations or products, optimizing subsystems for high-performance computing.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including firmware and driver developers, to define software configuration control requirements and develop comprehensive test plans for new architectures and features.

Performance Benchmarking: Drive benchmarking performance, identify areas for improvement, and apply configuration domain knowledge to enhance customer experience.

Technical Leadership: Act as a domain expert and principal engineer, influencing and driving technical direction across Altera. Mentor other technical leaders, foster community growth, and exemplify Intel values.

Strategic Alignment: Align organizational goals with technical vision, formulate strategies to deliver leadership solutions, and demonstrate a proven track record of executing and bringing products and technologies to market

Proven ability to work effectively in a complex, cross-functional environment


Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 10+ years of experience .

10+ years of experience in hardware and firmware design and architecture.

8+ years of experience in configuration architecture for ASIC, CPU

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Network-on-Chip (NOC) and processors.

Demonstrated expertise in security architectures

FPGA experience preferred

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US $186,760.00-$299,166.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
