Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with DO-254 experience for a prominent aerospace client. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the DO-254 certification process and will have participated in meetings with regulatory bodies such as the FAA and Transportation Authority.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop firmware using VHDL.Participate in the DO-254 certification process.Create verification test-benches to simulate firmware code using Siemens Modelsim/Questa, Synopsys VCS, or equivalent simulation tools.Design FPGAs using tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Microsemi Libero, Intel Quartus, and Synplify.Perform FPGA timing closure, power estimation, and pin assignments.Debug hardware and firmware issues using various test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.Work independently on firmware development tasks, seeking out necessary information.Follow established firmware development best practices.Develop firmware in both Windows and Linux environments.Document moderately complex engineering designs.Communicate effectively in written and verbal forms.Work well in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.Essential SkillsFirmware development experience using VHDL.Experience with the DO-254 certification process.Ability to create verification test-benches using Siemens Modelsim/Questa, Synopsys VCS, or equivalent tools.FPGA design skills using software tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Microsemi Libero, Intel Quartus, and Synplify.Ability to perform FPGA timing closure, power estimation, and pin assignments.Experience debugging hardware and firmware issues using test equipment.Ability to work independently and follow established development practices.Experience developing firmware in Windows and Linux environments.Strong documentation skills for engineering designs.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills.Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in electrical hardware design.Background in aerospace engineering and defense.Familiarity with Siemens NX.Work Environment
