Job Title: FPGA Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled FPGA Design Engineer to work on a complex radar sub-systems. The ideal candidate will be proficient in design, lab bring-up, and integration testing. Responsibilities + Work with the FPGA engineering team to debug existing VHDL of radar subsystem FPGA. Modify existing VHDL code base to add features and debug existing code. + Update existing VHDL testbench models, test cases, and sequences as needed to reproduce issues seen in the lab as well as add test coverage to existing code. + Design and integrate security features such as encryption, authentication, and access control into the embedded software. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and system architects, to ensure comprehensive testing and integration of radar subsystem components. + Travel one week a month to support integration testing. Essential Skills + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field. + 5-8 years of current Intel, Xilinx, or Microsemi FPGA logic design with VHDL, synthesis, and layout. + VHDL coding skills for both design and verification testbench development. + Proven experience working with embedded software development teams to debug and integrate FPGA functionality, preferably in the avionics and defense industry. + Extensive experience with debug and bring-up of FPGA designs in a lab environment. + Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. + Willingness to travel 25% Additional Skills & Qualifications + Developing Microsemi Polar Fire FPGA designs. + Extensive experience with Microsemi Libero and Simplify Pro tool flow. + Experience with Fiber Channel RDMA IP. + Familiarity with RS-422, RS485, Mil-Std-1553, PCIe, SPI, and I2C interfaces. + Excellent troubleshooting skills in the lab.
