FPGA Engineer - Junior-Mid Level
Amentum
The successful candidate will support various high-speed, mixed-signal RF/analog/digital electrical / electronic sub system and space system design teams as an individual contributor.
As a Junior to Midlevel FPGA Developer, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a variety of tasks aimed at designing, implementing, and testing FPGA-based systems. You will be reviewing project requirements and collaborating with senior engineers to understand the design specifications and objectives. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing real-time RF signal processing algorithms. You will write and optimize code in high-level programming languages such as C, C++, and Python. You will also use MATLAB to develop and test algorithms, ensuring they meet performance and accuracy standards. You will be using industry-standard FPGA development environments, including tools from Lattice (iCEcube2, Lattice Diamond), Actel (Libero IDE), and Xilinx (Vivado, ISE WebPACK). You will be responsible for synthesizing, simulating, and debugging FPGA designs, ensuring they function correctly and efficiently. In addition to technical tasks, you will participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, share insights, and address any challenges. You will also document your work, creating detailed reports and maintaining clear records of your development process. In this role you will be responsible for continuous learning and adaptation, as you stay updated with the latest advancements in FPGA technology and development tools. This proactive approach will help you contribute effectively to the team's success and grow your skills as an FPGA developer.
This is what you will need:
+ Undergraduate, Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or other equivalent field of discipline.
+ 1-8+ years of FPGA development experience in practical system development and deployment.
+ Working knowledge of developing and implementing real-time, high-speed signal processing algorithms such as mixing, filtering, resampling, and matched filtering.
+ Working knowledge of industry-standard FPGA development environments, including, Lattice FPGA tools (e.g., iCEcube2, Lattice Diamond), Actel FPGA tools (e.g., Libero IDE), and or Xilinx FPGA tools (e.g., Vivado, ISE WebPACK).
Preferred:
+ Proficiency in C, C++, Python, or similar high-level languages on PC and/or Linux OS.
+ Proficiency in MATLAB.
+ Proficiency in embedded software development.
+ Working knowledge of Multirate DSP techniques.
+ Eager to learn and grow in the field of FPGA development.
+ Strong problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
+ Passionate about developing innovative solutions in embedded systems.
