Leading, coordinating, and monitoring the work of others who perform the same type of work as this job. Lead responsibilities include training, checking the work of others and ensuring supplies and materials are available. Operate Zyglo system equipment safely and evaluate castings according to quality specifications.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of cast defects

• Operate FPI equipment according to quality specifications

• Evaluate casting quality per engineering specifications and document results on daily reporting log

• Unload heat treat racks and mark castings with heat treat lot number using telesis equipment. Load FPI automated line

• Communicate with casting machine operator

• Perform daily preventative maintenance duties related to the penetrant inspection equipment

• Load acceptable castings into customer dunnage

• Ensure that all general labor as well as readers are properly trained

• Ensure that the line speed is met and that the correct parts are loaded

• Regularly scheduled follow up training and competency evaluation will take place annually and be included with an employee’s annual evaluation summary and maintained by HR in the employee records.

• Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties upon request of the supervisor

• When necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the job
