Description Location: East Lansing Starting Salary: $40-50/hr, 24-hour work week Robert Half is partnering with one of their well-established non-profit clients on their recruitment efforts to find a part-time (24 hours a week), direct hire Fractional Controller. In this role, you will be in charge of overseeing the organization's financial status and projections while handling accounting operations, budget processes, and financial reporting. Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage the financial status and projections of the organization. • Facilitate the creation of operational plans for cash management, working capital, and reserve funds. • Ensure all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems comply with GAAP standards and applicable regulations. • Oversee the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget. • Analyze and approve invoicing and month-end general ledger entries. • Supervise the month-end and year-end financial close processes, including reconciliations and financial projections. • Present monthly financial reviews to the executive team based on data analysis. • Assist in the preparation of the annual Cost Allocation Plan. • Support annual independent financial audits and preparation of tax returns. • Develop internal controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risk. • Prepare accounting and financial reporting functions for any wholly owned subsidiary of the organization. Requirements • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role. • CPA or CMA highly preferred. • Proven proficiency in auditing practices. • Demonstrable experience in budget processes. • Knowledge of grant accounting procedures is essential. • Capability of handling ad hoc reporting duties. • Expertise in cash management strategies. • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP Accounting. • Experience with Non-profit Accounting processes is a must.
