Salary Range: 80-110K (flexible based on experience)

Our client is a small, family-owned company seeking an up-and-coming R&D Laboratory Manager with a solid background in chemistry, within the fragrance or cosmetic industry. This is a unique opportunity for someone ready to step into a management role or with some management experience. In their true R&D lab, you will have the freedom to innovate, create, and lead. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all lab operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards, while mentoring a talented team. Responsibilities: Lab Management: Organize and manage all aspects of the lab, including stocking, maintenance, and workflow optimization. Quality Control (QC): Oversee QC processes and ensure all products meet stringent quality standards. Quickly address and resolve any QC issues. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor three direct reports, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Data Analysis: Interpret and analyze data from R&D tests to support product development and improvement. Sales and R&D Support: Provide technical support to sales and R&D teams, assisting in the interpretation of data and development of new products. Test Setup: Develop and implement testing protocols for various air care products, including aerosols, auto fragrances, and industrial air freshening systems. Communication: Report directly to the President, ensuring clear and effective communication of lab activities and results. Requirements: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field. Extensive experience in the fragrance or cosmetic industry. Proven background in Quality Control (QC) is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills with experience managing a small team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with air care products, including sprays, auto fragrances, and active fragrance systems. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Open to mentoring and fostering a relaxed, collaborative environment.
