A Townsend Building Supply (a division of Carter Lumber) is seeking a Framing Superintendent who will be responsible for overseeing framing installations, repairs, and remodeling work carried out by both employees and subcontractors. In-depth knowledge of building materials, local building codes, and proper framing techniques is crucial for success in this role. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.
Requirements
Previous project management or on-site experience in a construction environment, preferably with a focus on framingAbility to supervise the installation of siding, doors, and windows.Strong knowledge of construction methods and process improvementsAbility to solve problems using strong judgment in analyzing, troubleshooting, and evaluating issuesPossess strong math skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of computer and various softwareAbility to analyze and provide recommendations to solve problemsWillingness to travel overnight as neededBilingual strongly preferred (English/Spanish)ResponsibilitiesProject ManagementSupervise the installation of siding, doors, and windows. Schedule and coordinate framing services. Analyzes job site with subcontractor prior to beginning a job. Interprets plan to ensure that a quality installation can be accomplished. Oversees subcontractors work, ensuring schedules are kept and jobs are completed timely according to contract. Provides status of projects and works through issues with the General Contractor and Carter Lumber's Project Manager. Knowledge & TrainingAbility to direct Installers/Contractors effectively to ensure the guidelines and requirements are being met per regulatory agencies. Ensure Installers/Contractors receive the necessary training to install framing products safely and efficiently.SafetyRequired to successfully complete an OSHA 30 hour training paid for by Carter. Ensures Installers/contractors are performing their job in a safe manner and that OSHA regulations are being followed. Directs and facilitates best practices to ensure safety standards are being met by conducting self-inspections.
Physical AspectsStanding and/or walking for long periods of time across a variety of surfaces.Lifting up to 100 lbs. regularly without assistance.Regular stooping and bending at the waist.
